In working on the “locations” video series (2003), I started using vector based animation. In the work that followed I found myself working more and more on simple line drawings to illustrate ideas and concepts. My work is mostly project based around one idea, which I research and develop through various media.

In that way, my ongoing affair with the topic of “escape”, which I see as personal alternative to dealing with reality as sort of passive activism, has been developed through a number of recent works/projects (“The Invisibles” 2005, “New Work”, 2004). I use drawing as a platform for working out ideas, touching upon various aspects of one singular notion, and sometimes almost like the use of the diagram in clarifying philosophical concepts. Most recently, sculptural realizations of my concettos have quite an appeal to me, especially after “The Flying Carpet” project (2005) and the “Swings” installation (2004). An idea that develops in space and is realized through direct physical interaction with the object (the public could sit on the carpet, the swings were used for swinging in the gallery) is a direction in which I am looking to develop my sculptural installations.

In starting to flirt with radio making through work with narrative audio pieces, (I love my voice radio show, 2004, Hypnoaudio, 2003, The Abandoned Glove 2004, Icons Share Their Wisdom (with Ana Husman) 2005), I have stumbled upon the Golden Age of Radio. Most of all the radio dramas of the time, which have had the most profound influence on me. I adopting the archaic aesthetics of the 40’s, I play with the notion of entertainment, its demystification and narrative (“Sorry Wrong Number”, 2006)

Employing a cheerful visual language, my topics remain in the field of the exploration of the inner states, identity, positioning of the individual to the world that surrounds us. I often search for metaphors found in everyday life, popular culture or literature, I employ them as easily recognizable concepts onto which I layer meanings. I strive to make work which can be experienced beyond sole intellectual interpretation and which is communicated on a more sublime level.
