Svätopluk Mikyta (1973) was selected for the final for his mature technique of combining several art forms – drawing, graphics, manipulated photography, object and installation. In his work a subjective dimension (shorthand diary-like drawings) interlinks with the historical-analytical method of comments (“found” and thematically selected photographs) and the illusion of a material, which he employs to transform the natural purpose and use (e.g. of ceramics). Thus he eliminates any reflections on the limits of one genre, and is one of the few intermediaries of classical artistic techniques within the framework of contemporary art strategies in Slovakia.
